Routine Cleanings
Routine professional teeth cleanings and exams are essential to your child's dental health. During these visits, your child's teeth will be cleaned with special techniques and tools. This also serves as an opportunity for the dentist to discover any dental issues as early as possible. We highly recommended having dental cleanings every 6 months.

Diagnostic Imaging
The need for and frequency of diagnostic imaging is different for every child. The dentist will prescribe radiographs based on several factors. Radiographs allow the dentist to detect and diagnose conditions that cannot be detected with just their eyes, and they significantly increase the dentist's ability to properly diagnose and form a treatment plan that is best for your child.
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride serves to strengthen and protect your child's enamel. Strong enamel helps to defend against cavities in both permanent and baby teeth! Fluoride treatments are recommended at every dental cleaning, or at a higher interval depending on the child's risk for cavities. We are always open to answering any questions you may have regarding the safety of fluoride!
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a liquid substance that we can paint on some teeth to stop the enamel-eating bacteria in their tracks. This is a conservative way of stopping the growth of cavities that have already started until a more permanent restoration can be placed. Benefits include preservation of healthy enamel, stopping the decay process, and potentially protecting the health of the tooth's nerve.
Protective Sealants
Dental sealants are tooth-colored resin material that are painted onto a child's biting surface of their tooth. This is a painless procedure and requires no anesthetic. They serve to fill in deep grooves in your child's teeth where bacteria commonly accumulate and cause cavities.

Dental Examination
At your check-up, we examine every inch of your child's mouth, including their teeth, gums and jaws. Special tools are used to make sure no cavities can hide! We take special care to ensure that proper jaw, teeth and facial structure development are occurring. A dental examination is recommended every 6 months. An additional orthodontic screening can also be completed, and we can help to determine your child's potential need for an orthodontic referral.
