The First Dental Visit

Dental caries is a preventable disease. If left untreated, it can lead to pain and infection. Early intervention and preventative measures are essential to a life-time of good oral health. It is important for your child to establish excellent dental habits and a positive relationship with the dentist!

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a child to have their first dental visit by the age of one.

At your child's first dental visit, the dentist will examine the teeth for any signs of decay, as well as the orofacial and dental development. Teeth and gums will also be gently cleaned while your child lays in your lap. Risk factors will be discussed and an individual plan will be tailored for your child to best set them up to remain cavity-free and build a healthy habits to last a lifetime!
